Hide Custom field from Create screen but not from Edit and View screens

I have a required custom field that I want to hide from the Create screen but to still be visible on the Edit and View screens for issues. How do I do that?

You need to have at least two screens: one for Create and another for View and Edit. Then Update the Screen Scheme being used to use those two screens for the corresponding operation.

I see, it seems to much of a hassle for just one field so I'll probably drop it. Thanks for the quick reply.
