Hi

I'm looking into a way to create an email notification, when a new Release Version gets created inside a project. The idea is so that teams can get automatically notified, when a new version is getting planned.

You can use the free Automation for Jira app to solve it.

We wrote an article about this, although the action part in that article is sending out release notes as PDF. It is not precisely what you want, but at least it explains the trigger part.

- Releases are created, or...
- A Version is created, or...
- A Version changes status, e.g.; unreleased to released

You will need "Automation for JIRA" plugin for that.

(probably there are other options available, see in market place)

Not out of the box. Notifications are tied to issues
