Hi guys, why is this issue sprawled across my scrum board and how do I fix it?

Can anyone let me understand why certain issues sprawl across the columns on the scrum board? How do I avoid this next time?

Your story A1-1 has subtasks. So it shows above the "Other Issues" section. You can click the little arrow on the far-left for A1-1 to expand the story to see it's subtasks.

The "Other Issues" area is reserved for issues (stories, tasks, bugs, etc) which do not have subtasks.

This dichotomy of issue visualization is a frequent point of confusion in Jira.

You can experiment, under "Board Settings > Swimlanes", with other ways to show and group your issues.

I've wished (for many, many years) that Jira had a setting that eliminated the "Other Issues" section, and just displayed stories-without-subtasks with all the other stories. But no.

Despite this limitation, I prefer this board view (aka "story-based swimlane configuration"). When used with "Expand all swimlanes", it's a great visualization for the overall status of the issue and it's subtasks.

The downside is that ranking or sorting is permanently "broken" at the "Other Issues" point. Your highest-ranked or top-priority issue, for example, might show at the top of the board (if it has subtasks), or at the top of the "Other Issues" area (near the bottom of the board).
