I want to know the process of creating Root Cause Analysis in Jira and Confluence
Hi @Yamini Sharma ,
RCA can be conducted differently. By default, there is no setup with fields for the RCA, but you can set it up the way you want.
One of the RCA JIRA implementations, you can find in this article Quantify your retrospectives to unleash the full power, which can help you save a ton of time, but it is an app (developed by me).
Best regards,
Alexey
Hi @Yamini Sharma -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Which root cause analysis (RCA) method does your team use? For example: 5-whys, cause-and-effect diagram (e.g., fishbone), measurement analysis (e.g., pareto), etc.
With some of those, a team could use Confluence Whiteboards, or a facilitator could guide the team to collaborate on building a Confluence page. Or, the team could use in-person (or remote) meeting to perform the RCA and then document the findings in Confluence and create Jira work items for the follow-up actions / experiments.
I recommend discussing with your team how they perform RCAs, how they use the outcomes, and how they plan next actions to decide how to proceed. Perhaps also check if your organization has guidelines on performing and documenting RCAs, such as for production incident management.
Kind regards,
Bill
