Hi Team,

We would appreciate your guidance on the following:

• How does billing work when Jira and Confluence are on the same Atlassian Cloud site with annual billing?
• Is it possible to downgrade only Confluence while keeping Jira on its current plan?
• If not, why does downgrading Confluence also require Jira to be downgraded?
• Would migrating Confluence to a separate Atlassian Cloud site (new Confluence URL) allow us to manage its subscription independently?
• Are there any other options to reduce Confluence licensing costs without migrating to a new site?
• Is there a way to downgrade Confluence without losing any existing Confluence data and without affecting Jira?

Our goal is to keep Jira on its current Annual Premium plan, preserve all existing Confluence data, and reduce Confluence licensing costs, since Confluence is not used regularly.

We would appreciate any recommendations or best practices you can provide.

Yes you can definitely have both apps on the same site and license them under different plans.

I recommend you work directly with Atlassian Billing Support to downgrade your Confluence plan. It may not be possible to downgrade until your next renewal date.
