Has anyone found a workaround for the limitation that I cannot re-order either Filters or Shortcuts

My shortcuts and Filters are constantly evolving . I want the ability to re-order this without going through hoops like delete and re-adding, etc. Has anyone found a way around this?

Hi @Xenia Chilkowich ,

I believe one of the rare places where you can actually manually order filters is within the left nav itself if you star specific set of filters.

You'll then see that handle icon next to each filter name.

It depends on where you'd like to (re)order those. 👀 Another example where you can reorder in the board filter list

As for shortcuts (within space)... this is a pain, yes. 🫤

There are some general feature requests on JAC, but I'd suggest you/your Jira admin reach out to Atlassian Support and discuss this with them. They should be able to create new suggestion on which you can vote and leave comments.

I do not see this option in my team managed project. Also I am not a JIRA admin so I cannot submit a request and we don't have a dedicated JIRA team so getting someone that is an admin to submit a request isn't likely to happen. It's unfortunate that power users cannot also submit enhancement requests.

As I'd like to see an option to reorder shortcuts, I can reach out to support to see what they'll say 👀

As for team-managed spaces - options from second screenshot are when you navigate to a board. I've just checked and it's the same in both TM and CM spaces.
So my question is - Where exactly would you like to reorder filters? Can you share* an example or a screenshot?

I just want to do it in the Filters section in the lefthand navigation menu. Doesn't this look the same for everyone? I will share the screen but it sounds like the answer is still no i can't do this correct? Apologies I am a liittle frustrated that every time I turn arou filter'.png nd there is yet another thing I CANNOT due in JIRA which seems like a need.

Hi Xenia,

Since Jira sorts filters and shortcuts alphabetically by default, the fastest solution I can think of is adding numerical prefixes to the names (for example, "01 - Filter A", "02 - Filter B").

This will force the exact order you need without having to delete and re-add them.

I appreciate the suggestion but this is too much extra work and I shouldn't have to rename everything just so I can sort. I already seem to spend a lot of time doing crazy workarounds to deal with all the limitations of team managed projects :(

Where exactly are you trying to reorder the filters, and the shortcuts? Can you provide a screen image for each of those?

I am trying to do this from the filter screen and from the shortcuts screen. As far as I can tell there is no other way to try to do this.
