I created a team.
Need guidance on how to create automation rule for this team.
Requirement:
When this team creates a new Epic, add two same stories under it.
(Project is constant)
Many people are working in the same project. I need my automation to work only for the people in the team I created in JIRA. Is it possible?
I could do this much. But it is working for everyone in the project. I want it to limit to the Team I created.
Hey @Sayli Mulay
Good day!
We may not have a direct way to allow only the members of a team to execute the automation rule.
However, you may utilise a group or project role to achieve this. Create a new group and add all your team members there. Then add a "User Condition" in your trigger, to check if the user who triggered the event is a part of the specified group.
(I've added the condition in the trigger directly, you may also add it separately just after the trigger.)
Thanks!
Hello @Sayli Mulay
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What steps did you execute to create the Team?
When you say you want it to work for only your team do you mean only when a member of the team creates the Epic?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Thanks a lot @Trudy Claspill
PFB the SS of the Team created. Added the people that are required.
I created the same as only few members in that project need this functionality to add these 2 stories automatically when they create a new Epic.
to answer your que:

Hello @Sayli Mulay
Thank you for that additional information.
As @Karan Sachdev said there are conditions available in Automation to check if a person is a member of a User Group or a Project/Space Role, but there is not a pre-built solution for checking if a person is a member of a Team.
I recommend that you use a User Group or Project Role to rather than a Team in this case.
If you choose to persist in the use of Teams the solution would require that you execute REST API calls from the Automation to get the member list of the target Team and then compare the rule Initiator to the member list.
