Hi All,
I have a very basic strategy question that your guidance on will help me with enormously.
My role is system owner for a fully outsourced ERP for a mid-tier Australian mining company. Besides day-to-day ITSM functions, I am also required to oversee enhancement requests that are developed by the ERP system provider, their UAT, reviewing and signing off on the change requests, and approving productionisation of updates.
I'm currently teaching myself Jira Service Management but am not sure whether Jira Core or Jira Software is the best tool for managing enhancement requests. Your advice would be appreciated.
With regard to the enhancement requests and regular monthly updates, is it best practice to set each up as a separate project? How is consolidated reporting managed?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
John
Hello John,
Welcome to the community, Jira core is basic, the software is added on top.
Software is used for agile development teams.
Depends on how complex is your process

Please read the documentation, if I understood your requirements correctly Jira Core and Service Management should be enough, if you ever need software features you can upgrade easily.
BR, Olga
