I am fairly new to JIRA. I think I have a good understanding on how the filtering works in JIRA. I also have a good understanding on how to use those filters in JIRA gadgets within the dashboard. I would like to do something slightly different though. Let's say you run through a filter and get 9 results. Those results include a custom field. Let's say that each of the 9 issues in the custom field come with the following: apple, orange, pear, one, two, three, Chevy, Ford, Dodge. I would like to take those results and plot them in a chart. But instead of listing how many of each, I want to group them, say for example, fruit, numbers and cars. Is this possible?

Group By is not an option for JIRA filters unless you write a custom gadget for it.

Have you tried creating a filter with all those 9 filters and then pull the new filter into a pie chart or 2D statistics gadget?
