Would anyone be able to clarify for me, whom Atlassian is referring to in this article: global permissions?
Halfway down the page under the section:
It has the following statement:
"Here is a list of administration tasks that only Jira System Administrators (not Jira Administrators) can perform"
Proceeded by a list of what a Jira System Administrator role has the ability to do. However, some of the listed permissions have "(but they can ...)" and it's unclear if the "they" that they're referring to is in reference to the "Jira System Administrator" role or the "Jira Administrator" role. Maybe it's me, who's not understanding and my question seems silly to ask, but would anyone happen to know or can clarify by whom Atlassian is referring to for those instances?
Thanks a bunch!
Given the options provided 'they' are 'Jira Administrators' but not 'Jira System Administrators', e.g. regarding indexing, both Jira Administrators and Jira System Administrators can 'reindex and optimize the index' but only Jira System Administrators can actually 'Change the index path'.
@Thorsten Letschert _Decadis AG_ Thank you for your helpful response! 😊 Having another persons clarification to better gain the confirmation I was seeking was helpful!
Kind regards,
Ina

The article is talking about the two types of Jira administrator you can designate. For whom they refer to, it's simply "who you choose to give the rights to" and hence who you call "our Jira admins"
I'm not sure where you are stuck on "Here is a list of administration tasks that only Jira System Administrators (not Jira Administrators) can perform"
