Is it possible for Jira users to get email notifications on changes they make to tickets? For example, if John Doe creates a ticket in Jira can John Doe also get an "issue created" email. Same with "issue edited" notifications.
I don't ever recall getting any of these but we have a user at our company who says they have until 3/26/24 when I'm submitting this question. He has what appear to be examples of this as well.
Hello @David Taylor
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Recently the features around managing your own Notifications preferences has change. In that change the ability to elect to receive notifications for changes you make yourself was removed. However due to the outcry from the users, Atlassian is looking to re-enable that option.
You can learn more about the changes here:
The change request to restore the option is here:
You may check the Notification settings in the project.

We confirmed that our notification schemes are working as expected. That is, if User A creates, edits, resolves, etc a ticket, then User B will be sent a notification email.
The part I'm trying to figure out is has there ever been a Jira feature where User A creates, edits, resolves, etc a ticket and then User A also gets a notification email for those changes. I don't ever remember that being a feature but we have some users who think it has been.

User can edit there own personal Jira settings. where you can enable - receive emails when you make changes to issues..
Go to Personal Jira Settings - Notification settings - Project and issues - Receive emails when you make changes to issues (On)

Interesting. That settings page appears differently for us. We have "Aallow emails for issue activity" but there is no option for "Receive emails when you make changes to issues".
Is that a premium subscription only? We're on a standard plan. I'm trying to think of another reason why we wouldn't have it.
Update: I missed the answer above which has an explanation for this.

May I see your view in Project and issue notification?

Below is how ours looks. That's consistent with the issue that Trudy calls out in their response above: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-83260. It sounds like they're working on adding the feature back in.
