Hi @Michael Knowles ,

A couple of questions that might help us troubleshoot

  • Did this start out of the blue?
  • Were any apps upgraded?
  • Was a system reboot done?
  • Have you restarted the instance since encountering the issue?
  • Did you maybe upgrade Jira itself?
  • Do the logs show anything?

• Did this start out of the blue?
o We have not used the system since 2019, we have a new employee who wants to start using it.
• Were any apps upgraded?
o No apps were upgraded.
• Was a system reboot done?
o A system reboot was done
• Have you restarted the instance since encountering the issue?
o We have restarted the instance sine this error was encountered
• Did you maybe upgrade Jira itself?
o Jira has not been upgraded. We installed 8.8.1 back in 2019 and have not upgraded.
• Do the logs show anything?
There is a large listing if Java errors which won't fit in the reply box.

@Michael Knowles ,

I think we'll need to investigate those Java errors then a little more.

Could you maybe post the log on something like http://pastebin.com/ and share the url? Or upload the file maybe to a dropbox/wetransfer location?

I restarted the Jira service a second time and now the projects are working. It took a lot longer to restart than the first time I restarted it this morning.
