Generating and exporting worklog information by project, user and specific timeframe (daily-monthly)

We need to be able to export worklog information by project, user and for a specific timeframe (daily-monthly)

We have been trying to trouble shoot this issue by using
1. Pivot tables
2. Forecast management> Time tracking Report, User Workload Report and Version Workload Report

However, we have not had success in accuratly exporting worklog data by project, user and by a specfic timeframe (daily-monthly). Can this be done without purchasing another add-on like "Timesheet Reports and Gadgets" ?
