G Suite > Atlassian Automate Users to Groups

I'd like to automate users synced via the G Suite connector to specific groups in Atlassian based on either their Google Group or domain name.

 

For example, we have 2 domains - 1 for corporate users and another for retail users and would like to create groups for each (JIRA, Service Desk and Confluence) in order to prevent retail users from seeing corporate resources, and vice versa.

 

Is this possible? Or is there another way to go about doing this?

Hi Ryan,

Currently, when syncing GSuite groups, it will only shows the users on Jira. It's not possible to sync the group and the group be automatically created in Jira.
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of such ability:

The best option in this case is to disable user defaults on Site Administration > Product Access> User defaults. It will avoid them to receive groups when they are created.
Then you can sync the users and manually add them to the necessary groups.
