I viewed the kanban board and selected "reports".......I selected a report from the list, configured to use the correct kanban board as the filter. I want to save the report in the left side menu for easy recall

Hi @MICHAEL_LEGARDEUR_-ND ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

There does not seem to be a "Save" option. But when you have created the report, you can copy the url from the browser, and use it to create a shortcut in the space.

Hi @MICHAEL_LEGARDEUR_-ND, welcome to the community!

Adding to Kris's point, Jira's built-in reports don't have a native save option, unfortunately. If you are up to the Atlassian marketplace 3rd party solutions, then I can suggest having a look into the app my team developed to overcome the limitation: Report Builder for Jira, which we created for ourselves since saving, reusing, and sharing reports is a recurring need. With it you can:

  • Build reports from any Kanban/Scrum board filters, projects, other JQL querys, or custom filters
  • Save your reports with a name so you can reopen them anytime
  • Share them with specific users, groups, or project roles (view-only or edit)
  • Add reports as gadgets to a Jira dashboard,  and dashboards live right in your left-hand sidebar for one-click access, which could be a resolution for your use case, I believe.

So instead of copying URLs around, you'd just pin the dashboard and get all your saved reports from Report Builder in one place. There's a free trial on the Marketplace if you want to test it against your Kanban board.

I hope that may help.

I'll give this a try...let me look and see what options are available. This seems a good option

  • Could you tell us which report you are creating from the Report section?
  • After entering all the details, are you not seeing a save option?
