Fresh install and be able to use previous configuration and DB. Cant create backup.

Jira server down. Cant access and create back up and migrate how docs say.

Have access to HDD - jira folder and have db. Going to install on new server.

 

Want to be able to use previous configuration and database. Please advise.

Hi Ivan,

I would recommend that you try the following:

  1. Copy the current home directory (Jira application home directory)

  2. Back up your current database.
  3. Do a fresh install of Jira and connect it to a new database.

  4. Stop Jira.

  5. Replace the home directory with your copy.

  6. Check dbconfig.xml in the copied home directory and make sure it includes the correct details to connect to the old database. (See Connecting Jira applications to a database.)

  7. Start Jira

Give that a try, and let me know if you have any trouble.

Have to get Posgres going first and will get to your plan. Will let you know soon.
