Forge plugin Versioning

Hello Experts,

We are developing a Forge plugin which is currently not listed on the marketplace but is being shared with our customers using a link, when ever we make a minor change and update our plugin all the sites that are using our plugin are also automatically updated.

Is there a way yo stop this automatic update and prompt the Admins?

Also how is the plugin version managed? we observed the version does the respect the version we have in our app package.json
Is there any documentation on how the versioning works?
