This has been happening more and more frequently:
I click on the Jira Icon within Excel. In the dropdown for input type, I select "filter"
Then in the pulldown for filters, I see:
STARRED
non available
OTHER
It takes a lot of effort to get this working - so many things I never know what fixed it.
Thoughts?
Hi All,
May be a path to a solution : I tried onething and it worked. My main filters i use are back.
What i did : opened my filtr in edit mode, removed one column, re-added the same column and renammed the exact same filter and saved it + marked as favourite.
Didi that yesterday, was still not showing up in "STARRED" Excel pugin.
Then disconnected the plug-in, reconnected with the OTP.
Waited one night and this morning ==> ALL 3 filters i edited came back in the list. But not the others which are also marked as favourite in Jira. I'll proceed twith same approach for my other filters. Looks like they have changed something but never communicated about that
I did not log out, neither cleared any cache nothing
Hope this helps
Does someone have a step by step approach to fix this ?
Need help here. And is htere an official help desk channel from Atlassian/Jira to guide us through instead of this discussion? Thanks

Hi @Paul Beatrice Welcome to the Atlassian Community
It seems like you're calling Jira from another program (Excel). Configuration of this setup is essential for it's functioning properly (think API-call using credentials).
Without learning any of this and your specific set-up, answering your question is not possible.
Kind regards,
Dick

Thanks Dick, I neglected to state that I am using the Jira plugin for Excel

now it works, go figure. I did so many things I don't know what fixed it.
Once I tried again and got a web browser with a code, I knew it would work - but how did I get it to do that

Why don't you describe your current settings here, so anyone with a similar question could find an answer? It could also become your place to fallback to if something were to go awry in the future.
Kind regards,
Dick

Hi Paul,
If someone would go and implement the stuff you have using the excel plug-in. What are the key things they need to do to get it working for them? I'm sure you'll be helping out someone with that stuff.
Kind regards,
Dick

What I use the Excel plugin for is to pull data from pre-defined filters. I customize my filters based on clients, which columns etc.
When it works it works great. But lately I have been seeing more and more times where when I pull down on filter, there are no filters.

Exact same isseu. Was working perfect and have never changed anyhting. Seems like since tey started migrating to their "new" issue navigator they broke something.@jira team, please fiw this !!! it's very annoing. I have to do it all manually now. Extract, import, fix sruffs and only then i can build different pivot table view and it adds unneccessary field to the extract !!!!!!!

Once I get it working it doesn't last long. Prior to this it would stay active for months (vs weeks now).

You both are aware that the API search engine Lucene is being replaced and that there are new API end-points for initiating searches? It would mean that the people making the excel plugin would need to update as well.
Kind regards,
Dick

Thanks @Dick regarding the mentioned API update. When did that happen? For me, my issue began at least 6 months ago.
I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as setup. I have pre-made filters that within the plugin I can select from the drop-down list.
I "THINK" what I did to resolve it was play around with some of the options. In the very top right, there is an 'i' icon. When clicked, you get other options. I cannot recall which ones I did, but I believe this was the area that resolved it. Next time I launched Excel and launched the Jira icon I was prompted to "setup" again, which once I get to that,t it seems to work
Hmmm I had screenshots of this, but don't see where I can attach them
