Few needs on Jira software board

Hello Guys,

We have few simple requests for improving our functionality in Jira system:

 

1. A requester adds an attribute “Company” to his new email request

For Example:

Good afternoon,

Please fix the following bug in the website landing page etc..

Thanks

Company: TEF

The new request/issue will be opened and auto-filled the existing custom field Company on issue window.

In addition,

Please just simply add Company field to Issue navigator view

2. A requester adds an attachment to his new email request content

Currently:

The attachment from email not appears in the Issue window.

Required:

The attachment will be integrated with existing field Attachment on Issue window and will show the file.

3. Add field in Edit Issue window to move issue from column to column

4. Add quick buttons of ‘Move’ and ‘Clone’ to Right-click menu of issue on Kanban board

Hi @Jira CGLMS

Lots of queries - for the email queries, are you creating issues in Jira from emails? I would advise reading this first - it has information on the attachments side of things - plus relates to Jira Service Desk which might be of use to you if clients are contacting you this way.

 

Question 1: Your Site Admin can add the custom field to your views - to do this:

  • Go to Settings (the cog icon) > Issues
  • Choose Issue Type Screen Schemes
  • Locate the scheme for your project - if there are many, you can also locate this via Project Settings > Screens
  • Clicking on your Issue Type Screen Scheme(s) will tell you what screens are in use on your projects - you might have more than one scheme for different issue types and you could have different screens for create, edit and view.
  • On the left-hand menu, now select Screens
  • Find all the Screen(s) relevant to your project and add Company to all those relevant.

As Company is a 'custom' field it might not show up when blank on the issue view screen unless populated.

 

Question 2: See this first - it has details on how to get attachments to connect when created via an email.

 

Question 3: Not simple - there's a few other options though if you don't want to drag-and-drop...

  • On the issue view screen (when not editing), you can move the issue by pressing the transition buttons - these are the top of the screen.
  • When hovering over an issue - press '.' to bring up the issue action screen. You can then type in the transition you wish to make and press enter to action

 

Question 4: Similar to question 3 - the main method to do this:

  • Hover / select the issue on the board
  • Press '.' and type move or clone
  • Press enter to action
