I am attempting to import project files containing task tickets into JIRA Work Management.
The project files are identical with the same tasks and statuses. Each import is done for different customers.
After importing, I use a filter to join all the tasks across all the customer projects. When I create a dashboard, the graph is showing that different customer projects have different statuses even though they are the same (**see screenshot).
Can anyone suggest a fix so that the dashboard does not show the duplicated statuses?
Hello @Jeff Bertel
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Are you importing the data to Company Managed or Team Managed JWM projects?
For Team Managed projects each Status value is unique per project, even if they have identical display names. A "Done" status in one Team Managed project is not the same as the a "Done" status in another Team Managed project. So if you are reporting on issues in Team Managed projects each status value in each project will be a separate column.
That is the nature of Team Managed projects, allowing each project to be customized without impacting other Team Managed or Company Managed projects.
If you are reporting on Company Managed projects, they share Status values that are defined globally, so Done in one Company Managed project is the same as Done in another Company Managed project.
If you are reporting on issues in both types of project in one chart, then the "Done" status in a Team Managed project will be considered a different value than the "Done" status in Company Managed projects.
The only way to avoid what you are experiencing is to import the data to Company Managed projects. And then customizations to the projects will be managed only by Jira Administrators.
That makes sense. Thanks for the tips, @Trudy Claspill .
How can I create a company managed JWM Project instead? Currently, I have only been creating the Projects from this dialog:
I appreciate any guidance you can offer.
Thanks!

Hello @Jeff Bertel
Some project templates can create only Team Managed projects, some only Company Managed projects, and some can create either.
When you get to the point of entering the project name, look for the Show more link.
If the link is present, click on it and see if it shows you a Project Type field that allows you to choose between Team Managed and Company Managed.
I haven't worked with the new Import Date to a New Project option, so I don't know if it offers a choice on creating the project as Team Managed or Company Managed.

If you don't want to migrate your tasks to a company-managed project type, you can try our our app Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.
Our app provides a long list of gadget with advanced functionalities, including a Quick Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget. This gadget maps the status by name, not by field ID, so it would solve your issue.
You can check out our app without installation on our demo dashboards.
