I'd like to export/migrate a Jira board, backlog, and all the comments associated with it—basically, an entire space/project.
How can I do that? The idea is for the data to end up in someone else's Jira environment.

You can accomplish this using the add-on called Revyz Data Manager for Jira found in the Atlassian Marketplace.

does this require me to have administrator rights in the other organization too?

Dear @Robin
Yes, it does require administrator access in both organizations.
You must be an org admin in the source (to start the copy).
The person on the target side must also be an org admin (to accept and apply it).
