Exporting Jira data compatible with older Jira versions

Can I export Jira data in a format compatible with older verisions?

Specifically from JIRA v6.1-OD-09-WN to Enterprise Version v4.0. build 466

No. Jira data is not compatible backwards. There a ree some tricks you can play if the versions are not too dissimilar (e.g. 6.0.4 to 6.0.1), but larger jumps are significantly more difficult. I wouldn't even think about 6 to 4 via standard export. You need scripts and extracts...
