Expand all option has disappeared from Timeline view

'View settings' used to include 'expand all' and 'collapse all' options. These are no longer there; the only option is 'hide done work items'. Is there a way to get it back? Expanding everything manually every time I refresh the view is time-consuming and frustrating. Thanks!

We're having the same experience on a Business Space / Company-managed.

A couple of days ago the 'Expand all work items' option was available in both the Timeline and List Views. Today it is only available in the List view.

Any help / insight is much appreciated!

This is still happening and has disappeared from the 'Timeline' view as per below 

This was there before in the Project Management space structure and a very key feature especially with the associated Gantt view.

Hi Trudy,

It's a Business space, Team-managed. The option was definitely there a couple of weeks ago; I used it daily. I wonder why it disappeared?

Many thanks for the change request; I'll add my vote, though I can't help but think that something else is going on. Do you know where I would find a changelog? I've found a few things online (e.g. Jira Cloud platform changelog, Jira Software release notes), but I'm not sure which is relevant.

Thanks for the response! I'm not looking at quite the same thing. This is what I see, in the Timeline view:

Can you check what type of Space this concerns? Click the ... button next to the space name in the navigation panel on the left. In the pop-up that displays tell us what it says in the last two lines. It will be something like:

Business space
Company-managed

I believe you are viewing a Business space. The image I provided is from a Software space.

In a Business space I see the same option(s) that you see.

I do not recall whether the option previously existed as I don't often work in Business spaces. But I did find a change request closed in 2024 that claimed to implement such an option.

However I found another change request also from 2022 asking for the same feature, and that one is not closed.
