Existing Project is Sprints and going to Kanban, then back to Sprints

Deleted user August 30, 2023

What happens if you go from Sprints to Kanban, then back to Sprints for a team managed project?

Currently our team uses Sprints on a team managed project in Jira.  We need to pivot for a period of time to focus on defect management and no new development will be taking place, so we want to shift to Kanban.  I know how to turn off the Sprints flag, but my question is what will happen when our team needs to switch back to sprints, will Jira be able to handle that?

Hello @[deleted]

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Yes, Jira can handle that.

If you disable Sprints, transition to Kanban, you will lose access to the scrum-related reports. If you later turn the Sprints feature back on at a later date, all the historic Sprint information and reports are returned. I have not observed any data loss.
