Excel CSV - error messages (unable to import)

Gerry Bolger February 25, 2021

Hi all

I'm getting this message when *trying* to import issues:

You have to define which CSV column maps to Issue Id if you want to import sub-tasks. You have selected Issue Key mapping.

Please note that importer will update existing issues matching the Issue Key from the CSV file.

This is what my file looks like, could someone advise what I am doing wrong - thanks in advance

You can't specify the Issue Id when creating new issues. The issue id is assigned by Jira. Also, you need to have a Summary value for every issue, including Epics.

Parent Id is only for sub-tasks. To map a Task to an Epic, you need a column called "Epic Link". Put the name of the "Epic Name" in to the "Epic Link" column for the tasks.

Hope this helps.

Derek. Thank you

I believe I’ve done the mapping of epic ID and epic link as in the screenshot

ill remove the Issue ID

i do have a summary column. Should that be the first? And is it’s name correct.

thank you
