Is it possible to add a new field when a ticket status is changed? We are currently building a support workflow wherein support usually creates Sup tickets then someone will pick it up for Triage. the idea is when the ticket has "IN PROGRESS" status, this means that a fix is being worked on and we wanted to add a mandatory ETA so support can have an estimate on when they can expect a fix will be delivered.
Hope I can explained it well :)
Hello @fadz
With what type of project are you working? You can find that information in the Type column on the Projects > View all projects page.
With some types of projects (Company Managed projects) it is possible to add a screen that will be shown when you change the issue status. You could add your "ETA" date field to that screen, and also make it required during the status change by using a Transition Validator.
The information on these topics for Company Managed projects is available here:
Thank you so much for the early response! It is a Company-managed software and my team lead is managing this support board. Basically we wanted to have this ETA mandatory when the ticket is moved to IN PROGRESS. Currently, I don't want to touch the current setup as I'm afraid to mess it up. is there a video tutorial aside from the link you mentioned? I'm sorry im just not that confident to run trial and error (afriad that i might change something and unable to revert it back) sorry for asking too much sir! hope you could help me find a good video reference. :)

Hello @fadz
You can find tutorial videos for just about anything in Jira on YouTube. ;-)
The trick is ensuring that it applies to Jira Cloud, and that it is not years old because Atlassian is releasing product changes every week.
Here is a video on adding a screen to a workflow transition.

From the same team that made that video you can find videos about Workflow Transition Validators.
