Hi,

we are using assets and have some Entries marked with a certain flag.

Now we want to create issues for each asset containing that flag when a certain event occurs.

I created an automation rule which checks with AQL for the assets containing that flag and reads for each of these the information we need to create the issue like in which project the issue needs to be created.

In the following screenshot, I added the most relevant steps we have in this automation...

In a log action, I see that the information is correctly displayed, but I get this error in the create issue step:

Could not find create meta data for project/typeId -

Can someone help me with that?

Thank you!

Hi @Anja Döbele -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Context is key for diagnosing problems with automation rules.  Would you please post images of your complete rule and of the audit log details showing the rule execution?  Seeing the error relative to the rule steps may help clarify this symptom.  Thanks!

Until we see those...

I suspect the problem is in the Create Issue action using the project name may not resolve correctly, and instead the project id value is needed.

Also note that this rule appears to have a scope larger than one project.  And so the rule would need to be global (or multi-project) to work as you expect.  It cannot be created within a single project.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi Bill,

thank you for your response.

I know that context is key and I just added the main parts of the automation rule as I thought it would be enough as the rest is more or less only logging.

And your response also solved my issue. It was really the create issue action using the project name. I changed it to use the project Id and this really solved it.

The scope was already set to multiple projects.

Thank you for helping to solve the issue!

Kind regards,

Anja
