Is there a way to include a check box style filter for "Epic"on the Active Sprint page, similar to the one-click filter for Assignee?
This would be a huge help in tracking Epics on an individual sprint, without having to create Quick Filters for eac Epic

There isn't unfortunately - your options are limited to quick filters or grouping stories by Epics in swimlanes, as an alternative.
