Epic Name not being imported into JIRA Cloud for sheets

Deleted user May 5, 2020

I have imported my project into JIRA Cloud for sheets, I have set up the fields to display the Epic Name linked to each story. However, the fields when imported for the Epic Name are blank. I have confirmed that the stories have Epics linked to them and tried reimporting numerous times still to not see any Epic listed under the Epic Name column.

Why are my epic names not coming in at all ???Screen Shot 2020-05-05 at 4.22.32 PM.pngScreen Shot 2020-05-05 at 4.22.45 PM.png

Hello @[deleted]

Thank you for reaching out.

Per your description, I understand you are exporting your issues using a third-party app, however, the Epic name field is not returning any value for your Stories. Is that correct?

The Epic name field is a required and exclusive field for Epic issue types. It is basically used to define the Epic name, so it should not be applied to other issue types.

That being said, it's expected that Stories do not display the Epic name field. Can you confirm if that field is displaying for your Epic issue types?

Additional to that, could you please let us know why are you trying to display the Epic name in Stories?

If you want to have a field in your stories to display their related Epics, you can use the Epic Link field instead.

You can have more details about the information mentioned above in the link below:
