Epic Link not visible

Fabian Bigler September 28, 2018

I have just been using the new Roadmap BETA feature and added some epics to it.

However, when I'm in my Backlog, I cannot link my existing issues to the newly added epics.

So what I'm essentially missing is the epic link field.

Some help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this is your issue, but for those like me who forgot today after no using them in a while, keep in mind that you can't add an epic link to a sub-task issue type.

This may also be because of your Project Settings. Some fields aren't visible by default. You could check that with your JIRA board admin or global admin users

does the epic link exist on the view/edit screen? If you go to view one of the stories under an epic, click Admin > Where is my field what does it tell you? You can then use Admin > add field.

Thanks for your quick answer.

I'm afraid I don't know where the view/edit screen is. :-)

click on the link of any issue or you can simply type the issuekey into the search (magnifying) that will present the view issue screen. if the Epic link is not there see if you have the Admin button.

OK, so I have been looking on the right view. However, the Admin button is not visible.

You must not be an admin then or maybe Jira Labs is enabled? If you are not the admin please contact the admin to add the field
