Epic Link doesn't update with an updated Epic Name

If I update the Epic Name for a particular epic, the Epic Link title doesn't update with the Epic Name, making it harder to assign tickets to Epics (especially if I change the key words in the updated Epic Name). Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Brigette,

Are you using different value for the Epic Name and Summary fields for the Epic? The Epic Link is really just the key for the Epic - something like ABC-123. It might be displaying the Summary or the Epic Name of the Epic, but the link is really just a key.

So, whatever you are changing, try changing both the Summary and Epic Name as at least a test to see if it provides the results you are expecting.

Hello @Brigitte

Where exactly are you viewing the Epic Name when trying to assign issues to Epics?

Atlassian is in the process of deprecating the Epic Name field and going with just one value - the Epic Summary field.

Are you actually seeing the Epic Summary information rather than the Epic Name?
