It looks like the JIRA email notifications (re: board activity, such as new comments, status change, etc.) have changed format and now no longer show a preview of the change, but rather links to the ticket. This takes away tremendous value of being able to identify changes at a glance from the notifications alone (often saving a click). Does anyone know if this notification update is permanent, or can we somehow revert back to how it was a week ago? Didn't see anything in notification settings along these lines. Help!
Not an answer, but I have the exact same problem (well, everyone at our org does). Something that was working well before is now a huge headache. How can I access this? 'Also go to Settings >> System >> General in the Jira admin and provide a screenshot of the following settings.'?
Hello, Good day. Could you share a screenshot of your previous and current notification format?. This will help to check from our end. Thanks

Here is the old (preferred) email notifications...
And here is the new (non-helpful) email notifications...

I've looked through all the notification settings, and there is nothing that I found to update what/how much is shown. So I did check there first.

Thanks, please go to the following location and check the "Email format". You need to replace xxxx with your sitename.

Apparently this is because we have a BAA, and that forces use of the HTML email format. Which is useless as a notification, by the way. So I can't disable it at this point as a user, but just some product feedback, those notifications are not serving anyone. They just create a lot of noise without any context.

I know this discussion is somewhat old, but has there been any progress on this? The new HTML notifications are worthless and just clutter the inbox with no useful information.

I agree. This new email format is unfortunately useless. Please revert back to showing the names of the tickets, the comments, etc. or at least allow for customization. Currently, they only amount to spam. :/
