Email notifications not being sent/received when comments added

Hi Team,

I have created jira task while sending a email to jira email id. Once the jira id is created and I am sending email with same subject, JIRA comment is added to the same jira id.

 

Now I want to add comment in jira and want to notify the email chain but that is not happening.

Please help me here

Hi Indra,

When you add a new comment on the existing JIRA issue, JIRA sends a new notification email - this means the new notification email will not be appended to the existing email chain that you have. Can you check if you are receiving a new notification email for the new comment?

If no, then there are few steps we can do to troubleshoot the notification email:

  1. Use JIRA Notification Helper to check if the user suppose to get notified of Issue Commented.
  2. If yes, then check the Mail queue right after adding a new comment - do you see any Mail item in the queue? This is the simple way to check if JIRA is triggering the notification email based on the action.
  3. If yes, then check your Mail Server if it is receiving the Mail item or not.
  4. Another method would be analyzing the log file, please refer to Notifications Troubleshooting for more detailed troubleshooting steps.
