Email notifications now include the action taken such as "[JIRA] (REV-365) Commented:" where they didn't before. This prevents gmail threading the tickets. I can see no way to change that preference.
I imagine our instance (hungryfishmedia) got upgraded overnight to OnDemand which caused the issue?
(Additionatly, I can't seem to create an issue on https://support.atlassian.com/secure/CreateIssueDetails.jspa. Hitting create just brings me back to the same page without error message.
I do show your account has been upgraded for OnDemand - which ties in with the change in email subjects. There has been demand to have customizable emails in JIRA Studio, and with this change in OnDemand, I expect this issue to get more attention. For the time being there is no way to modify the format. You can follow the (parent) feature request if you want to get updates on this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-7266
As for not being able to submit a support ticket, it looks like you ran into this bug: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-20696
Are you running FF3.6 / does this bug report sound like the situation you experienced?
My apologies, this is a bit of a mess.
That's unfortunate that the email subject change was made without the possibility of the most basic configuration.
Regarding the submission of a support ticket, it was on Chrome on Mac (16.0.912.77)
