Hi community!

 

I am trying to improve our use of Jira, and in that perspective I am looking for the possibility to tie email alerts to certain rules.

For example:

- Get an email reminder every time an <insert issue type> is due in less than two days. This email alert becomes a daily reminder afterwards until the issue is declared as done

My first lead would be to create a specific dashboard with only issues due in less than two days, and then subscribe to it to receive daily emails (if it can be done?)

Is there any other solution that you might think of?

Here are two options to consider:

  • Create a filter and add a subscription to that filter that runs daily
  • Use automation that runs on the daily schedule and checks for issues that are due and sends out an email to the assignee if due

The first option is generally the easiest but less flexible or powerful. The second option gives you lots of flexibility in writing conditions and notifying specific parties based on the issue itself.

I encourage you to use the Atlassian support page and look up automation if you want to go that route.
