Some of our company's users would like to change the default Email Notification Setting from HTML to TEXT format. However, when attempting to do so under Personal Setting, the system refuses the operation and generated the following error:
Even as a JIRA Admin, I was given the same error. Any suggestion? Thank you.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue on my local environment, when I change the format it saves normally.
Can you please change it back to HTML and save and then try to change again to "Text"?
Can you test using another browser?
Also, please open the developer tools on your browser and send us a screenshot if any error appears. It will help us to better understand what is happening and find what may be causing this.

Thank you for your feedback. Apparently, it's a bug for the application (and not everyone is experiencing it). An user must first re-select a default language (i.e. English) before selecting the HTML or TEXT preference, and then it will allow the change to be saved. It is very odd, but I think that should solve the issue for the time being.
