Hello Community,

I am trying to work on creating a Workflow which should start for each email received.

To sum it up:

1. The company has a fix email suppliers@company.com, which receives Invoices from Suppliers.

2. Each time an email is received here, it should Create a Ticket for a specific Project, so that the corresponding Department processes it internally.

I tried configuring a Mail Server + Mail Handler to do so, but it is erring out.

I was also thinking of probably creating a Trigger, but not sure if thats the correct approach (neither sure of the option with Mail Server + Mail Handler).

Could someone please guide me on how to proceed?

Thanks.

Hello Sameer,

Welcome to Atlassian community!

Can you confirm if you are using JIRA Software or JIRA Service Desk?

The correct approach to configure JIRA in a way that you can create issues through E-mail is by configuring an e-mail Handler, as you have tried.

That been said, can you let us know what kind of errors you faced when trying to configure the e-mail handler?

In advance, you can check the following:

- Check if the user creating a new issue through e-mail have the permission to do that in the project. More specifically, check if the is added to the create issues permission at project settings > Permissions.

- If the person is not a JIRA User, configure a default e-mail in your e-mail handler to set the issue with a valid reporter

- Whitelist the Atlassian Cloud IPs and domains mentioned in this article.

We will be waiting for your answer for further help.
