We have a requirement to create a dropdown custom field which having 2000 options in JSM. Is there any way to add those options in bulk? or we have to add them manually? Please help.

Hi shivani,
Your "requirement" is broken. 2,000 options is not usable for your humans, however you do it, so you should take another look at that, rather than trying to bodge your software.
Why do you think you need 2,000 options in a field?
I realize I'm commenting after 2 years, but better late than never.
I disagree @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Jira is "broken" in many ways and many features that should be there, are simply not, so people are required to find weird workarounds, like this one. This field is very powerful, because you can use it as a sort of a text-autofill field. so if you have ID's set from 1 to 2000 let's say, you start typing 123x and it finds all the ones that exist with '123x'.
@shivani shirguppi to answer your question, yes, kind of. This is possible via the API, and that would probably be the best/easiest thing, since it's a one time thing anyways. I am not sure what the limit number of the dropdown is as such, but I can tell you we do exactly the same at my company, and at the moment I have a few hundred "options" there, works as expected..

Hello @shivani shirguppi ,
Are you trying to set this up in a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?
There is a limit to how many items you can have in a drop-down/selection list field specifically in a Team Managed project. And that limit is 55 items.
There is a change request to raise the limit. You can add your vote/comments to it here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-20914
If you are working with a company managed project I have read that there is no hard limit. However, that many items in the list will impact performance. Additionally a field with that many options doesn't seem very user friendly. Can you tell us more about the use case that requires so many options in one list?
