Was something changed on the backend (again)?
Overnight all of the Done Epics on my Team-Managed project have become invisible. They used to be visible for a period of time both on the board and on the Timeline view. Today, Done Epics no longer appear anywhere.
The only way I seem to be able to find them is by using a JQL query.
(To be clear these are Epics that are less than 14 days old)
Did I miss an announcement from Atlassian that they had changed this behaviour? Is there any way to return to the old functionality?
Looking at other project across our tenant it appears that this change is system wide. done epics on all projects have disappeared from the board/backlog/epics panel.
It is possible to expose Done Epics in the Timeline view using a new setting....
I have also noticed several other UI/UX changes to how Epics are being handled in our projects, notably an Epic Status is now only displayed temporarily on the board when transitioned....
Previously this Epic status was permanently displayed. I genuinely don't get why anyone would think this is improved functionality.
Whatever update broke this, Atlassian rolled back after me raising with support, and everything is now as it was. Done Epics less than 14 day old are now, by default, visible on the Board and in the Backlog Epics Panel.
Hi Eliot,
By default, all Done issues on a Team-managed project will disappear from the board after they have been completed for 2 weeks.

This used to be the case yes, but since yesterday Epics now instantly disappear when marked done. As described above, the only way of exposing them is to run a query.

No. I cannot find any configuration that would suggest why these Epics are now instantly disappearing from all views. This changed overnight.

There is a lot of sensitive info on my board so sharing it would be problematic. I can say that there is nothing in the project settings that would be impacting this, and as of yesterday Epics would stay for the 2 weeks before disappearing.
I have noticed that I can get them back on the Timeline view, using this new setting (that wasn't there yesterday)...
However, I cannot expose Done issue of any age on the board, or in the Epics panel in the backlog.

Have also just checked. This is happening across all projects on our cloud tenant.

If you are asking what template was used to create the Team-Managed project, the issue is present irrespective of what was used to create the project. I am experiencing this across all Team-managed projects on the tenant. Company-Managed projects are not experiencing this.

Yes.
I appreciate you are trying to help. I have been a Jira user for a considerable period so have checked all the obvious stuff that may have inadvertently been re-configured and cannot find anything dumb.
I am confident that this is a change made by a silent update pushed by Atlassian, not something that me (or one of the other 2 admins) have done.
I have raised a ticket with Atlassian and are having them look into it. Will post the results here.
