Hi all,
We are currently making some bulk changes on several projects (replacing one resolution value) but the users are complaining that the done columns are getting full with older issues.
Any advices how to clear or the done column or how to filter those issues and exclude them from the board filter? The projects are company-managed ones and I was not able to limit the filter by status change or updated date as the done column is showing the recently modified issues and will keep them for a week (best case).
So, how do you proceed when you are making changes related to transitions, status changes, resolutions?
Is there any way to do not effect the projects boards -> Done column?
Thank you all in advance!
Hi @Magdalena Zhisheva , what type of project is this? If it is a business project with a default kanban board then unfortunately you can't edit the filter like you can in a more full featured kanban board. With these default boards done issues are aged off 14 days post last updated date. So if you are updating issues in bulk after they've already aged off indeed they will show back up for 14 more days. At least this has been my understanding and experience. If this is a configurable kanban board then you should be able to go into the board settings by clicking the… In the upper right and under General tab you can find and edit the filter.
Hi @Jack Brickey ,
Thanks for looking on this matter!
All related projects are software ones. I am able to modify the filter but not sure what to put there, so the ones which resolution was changed to disappear and in the same time, the team to do not loose something important in their board.
I thing this is the same topic as this one: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Re-Re-Card-come-back-in-done-column-after-bulk-change/qaq-p/1740123/comment-id/148117#M148117
Hope to hear your thoughts on this :)
Cheers,
Magdalena

So here is one possible solution/work-around...
When you perform bulk edit include a unique label, e.g. "bulk-edited". By doing so you can then use that label as a means of excluding the bulk edited issues from your board.
Your current filter...AND labels != bulk-edited
Of course you're going to want to be careful using that label to ensure that issues that should appear on the board in the day. An example where this could go wrong is if a done issue which was bulk edited is reopened and that label remains then it will not show on your board.
