Don't show BLOCKED issues

TAG Admin January 24, 2023

If a task is assigned to me, but it is blocked by another issue (by using the linking feature), I don't want it to show up on my "assigned to me" page until the blocked issue is completed.

My questions are,

1. Is there a way to resolve my above comment

and

2. If not, what is the feature of "linking", I'm wondering if I'm understanding it wrong.

Hello @TAG Admin

This is not possible underneath the "assigned to me" page. The purpose of the linking is to allow issues to create relationships from one ticket to other. In the case you are talking about, the fact that you are Blocked by another issue is an important piece of information that should be tracked.

Ticket links are largely informational, but they can be used to help better define timelines inside of roadmaps. They can also be used inside of Automation rules. For example, when the ticket blocking yours is completed, an automated comment could be added to your ticket to alert you that your blocker is removed.

If you want to know more about links, here's some additional documentation from Atlassian.
