Does changing the Project Key change the historical keys as well?

Hi there,

We thought of updating a project's key and it raised a question of the historical keys, being able to track back a change to the original jira ticket.

Any thoughts?

Hi, you can change the project key without problem.

If you have a project key ABC and change it to XYZ, all links (outside of Jira) will automatically be re-routed to the XYZ key. All your Confluence gadgets which point to ABC will still work.

So no need to be worried.

Appreciate the response. Curious, what will happen to the changelogs? Will that be confusing later on.

In the picture below you can see that nothing will be shown in the activity tab.

I've added the last comment before I changed the key from TEST to NEWTEST.
