Does Portfolio include all elements in an epic : tasks, bugs, and custom things like API endpoints?

We use Epics - and tasks, bugs, plus custom tasks like API endpoints.  THese only on occasion are listed under Stories.  We rarely have what seems to be the standard Epic - Story - Subtask hierarchy that is in the Portfolio set-up tutorials.

My question is - does portfolio automatically include all elements in an Epic - or only Stories and subtasks?
