Does Parent Field show the issue types as defined in Work type Hierarchy

In Jira, there is a Parent field.
I have defined the work type hierarchy as: Super Epic → Feature → Epic → Work/Story.

So, I expect that for Work/Story issues, only Epics should be shown as parents, and for Epics, only Features should be shown as parents.

Is my understanding correct?
