Do external domain users in Jira face issues after Azure AD Sync is enabled?

Hi,

Our client has procured Jira and Confluence and we wish to enable single sign on for all its existing users and also we are providing Identity and Access management on SAVIYNT tool via AZure AD Sync method of provisioning. So a user will raise a request on our IAM tool and on approval he will be added to the Jira and Confluence group. This is our plan.

However, as of now the users login with their ID and password and are not connected to any IAM tool. The users comprise of both internal and  external users(domains which are not related to our client's company). So incase we enable Azure AD Sync with our IAM tool for JIRA/Confluence, will the existing users with external user IDs be affected in any way?
