We transitioned for one project to another and some users keep creating issues on the old project and then days later reach out asking why anyone hasn't looked at their issue. Is there a way to disable the create option on a project you're no longer using? Not for all JIRA projects, just a specific project.
Also, with our new project we are using the forms and have those links tied to a SharePoint portal and we want users to go to our SharePoint portal and click the link there to complete our "intake form" which is the JIRA form and creates the tickets. We don't want them to be able to go to our JIRA project and click create there at all. We want them to use the submission form because we have multiple automations setup that complete fields based on what they select in the form, sends email notifications, etc. Can we disable the create button on the project so users can't create issues there but CAN still submit issues via JIRA forms?
Yes, you can disable the create button for a projected by changing the permission scheme the project is using so it no longer allow users to Create Issue
If you make your forms public then you should be able to make the same change in the new project (try it out, I know it works in JSM, there you can set it so only portal users can create work items, but that also limits who you can @ mention on the ticket).
