Would it be possible to display a note or a short description about the business purpose of each board within the Kanban board somewhere, so it's meaningful for our business teams?
After exploring community posts, it looks like this is either not possible or marked for future enhancement request with no workaround currently. Please share the resolution, if someone already had found a breakthrough.
I have the same question:
It's helpful to have details that already exist (e.g., Business Case document; or URL to the online application being updated) that are not a Task, Bug, etc. and can be seen immediately. Maybe that board description would include the URL for the project's Confluence pages.
To me, the best way to manage this would be to give prominence to the Pages link on the top nav bar for your project - remove what's unnecessary, and move the Pages link to the left-most location. Click that and have ready a link to your team's Confluence space, with the requisite description of how to use the board as the top-most page within the Confluence space.
Doing so would allow new users to rapidly discover how to use the Kanban board, while not over-burdening your power users with excess content on your Kanban board. That would be the solution I would strongly recommend; once a user spends a couple of days using it, that information will be unnecessary and an impediment to their daily/hourly use of Jira.
Hope this helps!

Look at the configuration of your board cards; you can put summary but here is a link to card configuration: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/customize-cards/
The layout is here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/customize-cards/#The-default-card-layout
short descriptions typically are the summary field in Jira. Option 1 have a single line text field in your project and put that on your card.

This topic is about the Kanban board itself and not the card.

Any updates on this? I need to add some text somewhere to explain how to use the board
