For my Company Managed projects, the Days in Column dots have disappeared from the cards on our boards, and looking at the board settings, where you have the Days in Column setting, the toggle on/off has gone.
Any advice on what has happened?
Is there a company wide admin setting that affects this? I've checked with other admins and they haven't seemingly changed anything that might affect this.
Hey @Sam Colohan
This is due to an experiment being rolled out (since yesterday I believe) where the days in column attribute has been removed from the Company Managed Kanban boards.
Just FYI, experiments are features under development that are exposed to a subset of customers to get an early indication of how users react to the experience before we decide to launch it.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info Karan.
Does this suggest that the days in column feature is being deprecated?

As an early indication of the experience... I like the ability to easily see how long each ticket has been in each column, so it's quite annoying to lose this functionality for no obvious benefit!

Once again: why is the design team using experiments to remove features without providing a way for customers to immediately revert the change at an individual and site scope?
This pattern of behavior increases customer frustration and increases costs for customers and Atlassian:
And this behavior seems to violate multiple Atlassian core values: https://www.atlassian.com/company/values
If a feature is to be removed, please consider just announcing it and removing it.
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy and @Patrick Scanlon
Thanks a lot for your feedback. The product teams now launch experiments to collect feedback about a product change (both addition and deprecation of features). The features rolled out during experiments may be rolled back later, that is, there won't be a GA launch for some of the features depending on the feedback and analysis performed by the product teams, hence, no public announcements are made for experiments.
There will be an announcement if a feature is being rolled out for all sites (GA), or is decided to be removed from all sites.
I have taken a note of your feedback and will share it with the concerned teams internally.
Thanks!

Does seem counterintuitive to make changes as part of an experiment to gain feedback, but not tell anyone, and likely get negative feedback because you've impacted people's work with no recourse for rollback or opt-out.

@Karan Sachdev I see it's back in our project now.
Can you please confirm whether this feature is being evolved or deprecated as part of your experiment?

Hey @Sam Colohan
We don't have the exact details on this currently. If the functionality gets updated or deprecated, we should have an announcement for it (in the coming weeks).
PS. I shared the feedback with the concerned teams and they assured that they're looking at the feedback from multiple sources, including the community.
Thanks!
