Data migration with differences in deployed add-ins

TSNakamura November 29, 2020

Hi there,

We are currently considering migrating data from Jira/Confluence.
Both Jira and Confluence will be migrated from the cloud version to the cloud version.
If there are differences between the add-ins installed in the pre and post environments, what will be the result of the data migration?
We expect that the data migration itself will fail as an error or that the data associated with the undeployed add-ins will be lost.
As an example, we have the following add-ins in place
In the pre-migration environment, all of these add-ins have been implemented, and in the post-migration environment, they have not been implemented.

Gantt-Chart for Jira
Gantt-Chart for Jira in Confluence
Draw.io Diagrams for Confluence
Navitabs - Tabs for Confluence
Team Files: Office 365 & Google Docs
Easy Agile User Story Maps for Jira

Thanks kindly

This entirely depends on the migration method you are using.

But you should assume that if an app is not in place in the target, you will lose all the configuration, settings and data that belongs to the app, unless it stores it in Jira.  For example, the Gantt chart apps will lose all the config that displays data based on a set of Jira issues, but the issues are Jira data, so they will not be affected.

Thank you for your reply.
I would like to perform data migration after configuring all add-ins.

Thanks kindly.
