Dashboard suddenly in Japanese

We are having an issue where the dashboard is showing up as follows:

Despite our language settings being in English. I found a similar post here (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Dashboard-suddenly-in-japanese/qaq-p/1518820) but the resolution did not work. Seems like there is a new bug on the Jira end that needs to be resolved?

this has been reported as a bug https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-42361
Unfortunately it is not fixed in all cases but you can click on "This affects my team" to signalize it is of importance for you.
